Debates in Bayulgen’s Politics of Oil

Prof. Oksan Bayulgen orchestrated student debates in her course, the Politics of Oil. On April 19, students debated the proposition that ‘nuclear energy is needed as an alternative energy source.’ The debaters were Ashley Grenier, John Tyczkowski, Ben Fechter, and Michael Vacas.

UConn students also debated students from Wesleyan University at the Wesleyan University Shasha Conference on Political Economy of Oil. The proposition for the Wesleyan debate was ‘The Keystone XL US-Canada pipeline should be built.’ The UConn debaters were Caroline Griffith (pictured 2nd from left) and Carl A. D’Oleo-Lundgren (far left).
