Four of our faculty members will be discussing their recent books and answering questions. Maya Beasley will be discussing Opting Out: Losing the Potential of America’s Young Black Elite (University of Chicago Press, 2011); Shayla Nunnally will be discussing Trust in Black America: Race, Discrimination, and Politics (New York University Press 2012); Evelyn Simien will be discussing Gender and Lynching: The Politics of Memory (Palgrave MacMillan 2011), and Melina Pappademos will be discussing Black Political Activism and the Cuban Republic (University of North Carolina Press, 2011).  Refreshments will follow.
